In short: we publish a fact about a provider only when we have read it on an official source, and profiles list the sources we used with the date we checked them. Missing information stays missing. Listings are free, never paid for, and are not a ranking or an endorsement.
Where each fact comes from
We check sources in a fixed order of authority. When two sources disagree, the higher one wins and the conflict is noted for review.
For surgeons
- Medical Council of Thailand registerThe official register of licensed doctors (checkmd.tmc.or.th). A “Licence checked” label means we found the surgeon there, on the date shown.
- Society member lists (ThPRS, ThSAPS)The member search of The Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand (ThPRS), and any member list that ThSAPS or another professional society publishes. A membership found on such a list is marked as on the society's member list; one we cannot find on a published list is not marked that way.
- University and faculty pagesOfficial pages of Thai medical schools and teaching hospitals, for training, academic titles and positions.
- The hospital's or clinic's official profileThe surgeon's page on the website of the hospital or clinic where they practise, for specialty, languages, expertise and the procedures they list. A membership mentioned only here is marked as stated on a hospital profile.
- The surgeon's own professional websiteUsed for details the sources above do not cover, and never for comparative or promotional claims.
- PubMed and academic recordsPublications are listed only when the author's affiliation matches the surgeon's hospital or university.
For hospitals and clinics
- Accreditor databasesJoint Commission International (JCI) and the Healthcare Accreditation Institute (HA Thailand). We record the status, the validity date when shown and the date we checked.
- The facility's official websiteFor the address, departments, number of beds and operating rooms, services for international patients, the procedures offered and the surgeons listed.
- Government and university sitesFor public and university hospitals, the official pages of the ministry or university that runs them.
Directories, aggregators, medical-tourism agents, review sites, news articles and social media can help us find an official page, but they are never the source of a fact.
What the labels on a profile mean
- Licence checked
- The surgeon was found on the Medical Council of Thailand register on the date shown.
- On a society member list
- The surgeon's name appears on a member list that the society itself publishes, such as the ThPRS member search.
- Accreditation
- Shown only from the accreditor's own database or a current, dated statement by the facility, with the body, status and validity date.
- Documented procedures
- A surgeon or facility is linked to a procedure only when an official page says they perform or offer it. “Plastic surgeon” alone does not imply any procedure.
- Last reviewed
- The date we last checked the record against its sources.
- Not recorded
- We have not found the fact in an acceptable source. It does not mean the answer is no.
What we never publish
- Ratings, scores, rankings or “best surgeon” and “top hospital” lists
- Patient reviews or testimonials
- Success rates, complication rates or case numbers
- Degrees, board certifications, memberships, awards or years of experience that no source confirms
- Guarantees or promises about results
- Stock photos, or photos of anyone other than the surgeon named on the profile
- Prices presented as a quote
We do not turn missing information into a claim. If a hospital does not publish its number of beds, the profile simply does not show one.
How lists are ordered
Directory and profile lists show the most complete records first: a sourced photo, then a researched profile, then alphabetical order. This reflects how much we have been able to verify, not the quality of a surgeon or facility. It is not a ranking, and every list says so.
The compare pages set records side by side with the same fields and no scores. Where one record has a fact and another does not, the table says “Not recorded”.
Listing is not an endorsement
No surgeon, hospital or clinic pays to be listed, to appear higher in a list or to change what a profile says. A listing means we found the provider in official sources. It is not a recommendation, and it does not replace your own checks or a consultation.

How often records are reviewed
- Every profile shows the date it was last reviewed, and every source shows the date we opened it.
- We aim to re-check each listed record at least once every twelve months.
- We re-check sooner when we receive a correction, when an accreditation's validity date passes, or when an official source changes.
- A record we can no longer support from an official source is corrected or removed.
Photos
A surgeon's photo comes only from the official profile of that surgeon. Facility photos come from the facility's official website or from Wikimedia Commons under an open licence. Each photo is credited and linked to the page it came from. If we are not sure a photo shows the right person or building, we show none.
How to request a correction
Patients, surgeons and facilities can all report an error through our contact page. Please include:
- the link to the profile
- what is wrong or missing
- a link to an official source that shows the correct information
We change a fact only when an acceptable source supports the change, and the profile's review date is updated when we do.
