Procedure
The procedure lasts around 2 hours. Usually the surgeon will give you a general or twilight anesthesia. At the end of the procedure the incision will be closed with sutures and covered with sterile dressings.
Recovery after the procedure.
Recovery time after a thigh-lift is between 1 and 2 weeks. During the first 2 days swelling will occur. It is recommended to walk as much as possible, so long as it does not hurt too much. This can help reduce swelling. The first 3 days avoid going up and down the stairs or other activities that put pressure on the stitches.
You can usually return to work after a week. But avoid heavy lifting and exercise for the first 6 weeks.
Do not be surprised if the scars become more red after the first few weeks, this is normal. They will start to become less visible after a few months, but it will take often longer than a year to settle. Even then, the scars will always remain visible.
Risks
